Promoting Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Forestry Sector
A participatory training with FSC staff and members
Context
The project stems from the need to spread and strengthen awareness of GEDI (Gender Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) principles among FSC staff and members, while deepening their understanding of FSC principles related to these themes.
Integrating gender equality, diversity and inclusion into forestry activities is a key step toward ensuring a sustainable and socially equitable management of natural resources.
The project
The project involves the creation of a pilot training programme consisting of two modules, to be tested on a voluntary basis with FSC staff and members.
The modules build on materials developed through the ForGEDI course, providing a shared knowledge base, and delve deeper into FSC principles and standards related to GEDI.
The goal is to strengthen participants’ ability to apply GEDI principles in practice across FSC’s activities and processes.
