From 21 to 24 April 2026, Phuket will host the GSTC2026 Global Sustainable Tourism Conference, the leading international event bringing together sustainability leaders, tourism professionals and stakeholders from around the world to advance sustainable tourism practices on a global scale.

Etifor will be represented by Federica Bosco, Senior Sustainable Tourism Manager of the Tourism Programme and official GSTC trainer, who will participate as a speaker on one of the conference panels.

  • The panel: Climate Resilience, Disasters, and Sustainable Recovery 22 April 2026 | 14:00 – 15:15 | Royal Phuket: Hay Nakha

The panel will address one of the most pressing issues facing the sector: how tourism destinations can prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters while keeping sustainability and resilience at the forefront. Discussions will cover climate risk management, adaptation strategies, and the fundamental role of local communities in recovery processes. Tourism is indeed closely dependent on the ecosystem in which it takes place, and can actively contribute to its conservation, including in terms of resilience to climate change.

In her presentation, Federica will draw on Etifor’s experience through concrete case studies from Italian destinations, including Alta Badia, a leading example of regenerative tourism in the Dolomites, and the Treviso-Ostiglia Cycleway, a slow tourism project that integrates sustainable mobility with the enhancement of local territory.
