We are an environmental consulting firm: our mission is to restore the balance between humans and nature, and we do this through the use of science, innovation and good governance. We support public and private entities to improve the environmental, social and economic impacts of policies, projects and investments on the ground. As a spin-off of the University of Padua, we work locally and internationally bringing scientific innovation into everyone’s lives.

- someone with strong analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude, able to work independently while supporting the team in the creation of partnerships with private companies which aim to generate positive impacts on climate, water and biodiversity by investing in forest and environmental projects;

- a person with a keen interest in climate and environmental issues, in particular from a corporate sustainability perspective;

Responsibilities
The selected person will work in the Nature Positive Unit. In particular, they will have the following responsibilites:
- Business development
Client relationship management throughout the whole sales cycle, from initial contact point to contract negotiation and deal finalisation. The main focus will be on clients that aim to generate positive impacts on climate, water and biodiversity by investing in forests and environmental projects, such as companies willing to become Climate and/or Nature Positive by applying our MARC method (Measure, Avoid, Risks, Capture & Communicate). - Project management
Maintain relationship with the client and manage sold projects from A to Z, ensure that deliverables are up to quality standards and delivered on time, manage internal resources in order to accomplish all tasks by coordinating the multidisciplinary team working on the project (communication, technical team..), mediate relationships among all project stakeholders. - WOWnature®
Contribute to the development and growth of the WOWnature® community by engaging with new clients (B2B), raising private sponsorships for forests and environmental projects;
Promote Etifor and WOWnature by taking part to events, workshops and networking activities;
Engage actively in the shared-management, team and strategy building activities of the company;
Coordinate with the sales and marketing team at Etifor, and report to the Private Sector Director.

Qualifications, experience and skills required
Education
- Master’s Degree related to forestry, natural resources management, environmental engineering, climate change, environmental economics;
- Any Master’s Degree will be evaluated on a case by case basis if the candidate has relevant work experience in the field;
Experience
- 0-5 years of work experience in a relevant role for this position (our team is expanding rapidly and we are seeking to hire junior and/or senior consultants depending on applicants’ profiles);
- international experience, in particular in developing countries (including international volunteering or studying experiences), will be considered a plus;
- previous consulting experience (strategy, management or environmental consulting) will also be considered a plus.
Required skills
- Fluency in English and Italian. Preferences for candidates with knowledge of other languages, in particular French, Spanish, Portuguese;
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills;
- Sales, commercial and marketing attitude;
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving attitude;
- Personal and professional interest in sustainability and climate issues;
- Good level of computer literacy (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, others);
- Knowledge of sectoral standards and methodologies (FSC, SBTi, SBTN, CDP, GHG Protocol, LCA, TNFD, TCFD, ACT-D) will be considered a plus.

Contract details
Start: June or July 2023
Location: Padova (Italy) – Piazza A. De Gasperi n. 41, with possibility of flexible smartworking
Length: 1 year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal for an indefinite period; 3 years apprenticeship contract for candidates under 30
Starting gross salary range: depending on experience and contract type
Type of contract: Full time contract
