Official training on international GSTC standards for destinations and tourism operators

As of September 2, 2025, we are a Regional Training Partner of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council® (GSTC), the international body responsible for setting and managing global standards for sustainable tourism.
This partnership recognizes our role as an operating and promotional partner of the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program, strengthening our commitment to advanced training on sustainable, regenerative, and slow tourism in Italy and beyond.
Official GSTC training on international sustainability standards
Under the agreement, we deliver official GSTC training courses covering:
- sustainable tourism,
- hospitality,
- tour operators,
- destination stewardship and governance.
Courses are offered in Italian and English, both online and onsite, and are delivered by authorized GSTC Trainers, providing practical tools to apply the GSTC Industry Standards and the GSTC Destination Standards across different tourism contexts.

“We are proud of this result and contribute to spreading the principles and practices of sustainable tourism. At Etifor, we believe that knowledge and collaboration are key to transforming destinations and organizations towards a more regenerative model — one that restores nature, empowers communities, and creates long-term value for all,” said Francesco Loreggian, Tourism Program Coordinator.
Contributing to the adoption of GSTC standards in Italy
As a GSTC Training Partner and active member of the GSTC Italy Working Group, we contribute to the adoption of GSTC standards through training, promotion, and technical support activities.
To date, more than 20 Italian destinations have achieved GSTC certification, the highest number recorded in a single country, reflecting the growing commitment to credible and internationally recognized sustainable tourism practices.
