We are part of a global movement of companies that respect high standards of social and environmental impact
2022 has been a very busy year for our company, however it is ending with great satisfaction. Satisfactions that we could not achieve without the dedication of our team and the support of the associates and partners who continue to believe in our work.
This autumn we obtained the international B Corp certification: with a score of over 100 points, we joined the small circle of certified Italian companies (just 200 to this date) and became the first spin-off of the University of Padua to achieve this goal!
We are convinced that companies can and should be the first to commit to the well-being of the community and the environment. This certification marks an important step forward in our continuous improvement process.
What does it mean to become a Benefit Corporation and B Corp?
“Certified B Corporation” is a trademark licensed by B Lab, a private non-profit organization, to companies like ours that have successfully completed the B Impact Assessment (“BIA”) and therefore meet the requirements set by B Lab for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It is specified that B Lab is not a conformity assessment body as defined by Regulation (EU) No 765/2008, nor is it a national, European, or international standardization body as per Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012. The criteria of the BIA are distinct and independent from the harmonized standards resulting from ISO norms or other standardization bodies, and they are not ratified by national or European public institutions.
B Corporations are companies committed to measure and consider their environmental and social performance with the same attention traditionally given to economic results. These companies believe in business as a positive force to produce value for the biosphere and society.
Becoming a Benefit Corporation entails changing the company’s corporate purpose and publicly registering the Annual Report supplemented by the Impact Report with the Chamber of Commerce. In turn, the international B Corp certification requires annual monitoring of impacts through the B Impact Assessment. Therefore, each of our projects is assessed on the basis of impact indicators linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In pursuing and reporting these impacts, we are committed to the highest standards of transparency and are guided by a rigorous scientific approach and the ethical values that have always set us apart.
