Lio Piccolo is an area of outstanding landscape and environmental value in the Venice Lagoon, characterized by its traditional fishing valleys and a delicate balance between lagoon ecosystems, human activities, and tourism.

As part of the environmental restoration activities carried out by Etifor through WOWnature, the intervention aims to strengthen the ecological functionality of the fishing valleys and enhance the area’s cycling connection with the GiraSile greenway and the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle route.

Within this framework, Edison chose to support a concrete territorial restoration action.

The intervention included:

• the planting and maintenance of 500 new trees, arranged in double rows along newly constructed embankments, supporting the restoration of the lagoon’s traditional fishing valleys;
• post-planting maintenance of the young trees to ensure their establishment and long-term growth;
• the design and installation of an information panel promoting Lio Piccolo as the fourth stop of the GiraSile greenway.

The action combines environmental protection with the promotion of sustainable mobility, strengthening the link between conservation of the lagoon landscape and responsible public use of the area.

Etifor designed and implemented the intervention in Lio Piccolo as part of the WOWnature initiative.

Our team was responsible for:

• plantation design and species selection;
• plant sourcing and supply;
• coordination of planting operations;
• maintenance planning;
• design and installation of the information panel.

The project contributes to the landscape restoration of the Venice Lagoon and enhances a strategic area for biodiversity and cycle tourism.
