Badesi is a tourist-oriented territory that has identified the need for a strategy to define its identity and future development directions, focusing on socio-cultural, environmental, and economic sustainability.

The project’s overarching goal is to build a sustainability pathway for Badesi that supports the destination and its tourism value chain.

The project first involves drafting a multi-year Strategic Plan to launch the destination. Inspired by the sustainable development guidelines defined by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria, this plan will explain, through a participatory process, the tourism concept for Badesi destination and its organizational and operational framework. It will structure the tourism offering in alignment with the values the territory and the local community expresses.

An annual Operational Plan will be developed to give concrete form to the strategic tourism development vision outlined in the multi-year plan, detailing specific actions to be implemented in line with the long-term strategic objectives.

Etifor supports Badesi with technical assistance to develop the destination sustainably, including:

• drafting the multi-year Strategic Plan and annual Operational Plan through a participatory process involving the local community, tourism operators, and public authorities;
• assisting in the selection and creation of a pilot project to initiate operations;
• Supporting and implementing initiatives outlined in the Operational Plan.
