Context

Azienda Agricola Cecchetto has been committed since 2017 to understanding and reducing the environmental impact of wine production through sustainable and innovative practices, ensuring environmentally friendly solutions.

The project

With the help of Etifor, in 2020 the company set a goal of contributing to a Climate Positive economy by 2040.

The company began the journey by measuring its CO2 emissions through its Carbon Footprint and implementing actions to avoid and reduce them. Since 2020, the energy used in production has come entirely from renewable sources, including the company’s photovoltaic plant.

The company has also invested in sustainable forest management, certifying its forests FSC® and verifying their positive impacts through the FSC® Procedure on Ecosystem Services.

Finally, it is committed to annually offsetting an increasing percentage of its residual emissions by sponsoring international and FSC®-certified WOWnature forestry projects.

From 2024, the company has set even more ambitious goals: to contribute to a Nature Positive economy by 2040. The path involves measuring impacts on water and biodiversity and identifying priority areas for action, considering the company’s dependencies on nature. It also includes setting targets to reduce impacts and a plan to decrease them by implementing and sponsoring activities to neutralise them in local natural areas.

Our contribution

Etifor has played a crucial role in helping Cecchetto achieve its environmental goals. Providing strategic and technical support, Etifor guided the company in implementing sustainability practices and obtaining the necessary environmental certifications.

Through the MARC and LUCAS approaches, Etifor helped the company establish long-term sustainability goals and develop new business models to neutralise its environmental impacts.
