Sustainable landscapes are essential for food security, health, livelihoods, business and trade opportunities, including renewable materials and energy. International agreements play a critical role for development, as well as for biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation and adaptation or water security. The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) accelerates action towards the creation of productive, prosperous, equitable and climate-resilient landscapes and the achievement of the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030). Federico Pinato, on behalf of Etifor and FSC® International, will present the case study of Waldplus, FSC group certification holders of which the Lowland Forestry Association (AFP) is a group member.
The presentation will focus on the results of AFP that is included in the FSC ® group certification of WaldPlus. It will expain the potential of ecosystem services as a market tool to help enhance and protect the nature and role of private companies in improving the green areas.  From Alì Supermercati to E.ON, passing through AzzeroCO2, the collaboration with private companies that have been active for years in reforestation projects has been fundamental for the success of many important projects. Finally, the new FSC procedure for the certification of ecosystem services, which has been tested for the first time in Europe by Waldplus in collaboration with Etifor, will be discussed.

On Sunday 2 December 12:00
