From 17 to 19 March 2026, Etifor | Valuing Nature took part in the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit in Padova, the leading European gathering for scientists, policy makers and investors working towards a low-carbon agriculture and forest management.

Our participation spanned several fronts. Alessandro Leonardi contributed to the session Innovative Financial Models to Scale Carbon Forestry, exploring how insetting, blended finance and ecosystem services certification can make carbon forestry a credible investment opportunity. The following day, in the session Standards, Practices, and Certification Approaches for Carbon Forestry, Lucio Brotto discussed standards and certification for forest management, addressing how to credibly measure and verify the carbon absorbed by forests — a key condition for these projects to be recognised and funded at European level.

The LIFE ClimatePositive and WOOD4LIFE projects were showcased at the Innovation Corner and the LIFE Stand, where visitors could explore practical tools including the SMART Associations Toolkit and the Carbon Tool for forest carbon accounting.

The plenary presentations are available in the video below.
