Who we are

We are an environmental consulting firm: our mission is to restore the balance between humans and nature, and we do this through the use of science, innovation and good governance. We support public and private entities to improve the environmental, social and economic impacts of policies, projects and investments on the ground. As a spin-off of the University of Padua, we work locally and internationally bringing scientific innovation into everyone’s lives.

The person will work within the Administration and Accounting Unit and will support the Grants Manager. Depending on the level of experience, after a training period, the person will have to support the different activities during the various work phases. In particular, they will be in charge of:

for Italian tenders:

  • managing the registration and updating of supplier lists and accreditation with public and private bodies;
  • analysing tenders and invitations to tender from an administrative, documentary and financial point of view, liaising with the Grants Manager and the various Project Managers;
  • preparing and sending the administrative documentation of tenders, managing – in case of award – the subsequent fulfilments;
  • liaising with the offices of public and private bodies responsible for the administrative processes of tenders.

for projects:

  • supporting the Grants Manager in the collection of documentation to support the financial reports of national and international projects (filling in timesheets, financial reports, expense reporting, etc.), following the guidelines given by the donors/funds of reference (LIFE, PSR, ERDF, ESF, Erasmus+, Horizon, etc.);
  • supporting the Grants Manager in the verification and preparation of official project reports;
  • guaranteeing the correct and transparent administrative/accounting management of projects;
  • supporting the administrative team in ensuring a correct reconciliation between project accounts and general accounts.

Other responsibilities could be added to enhance specific skills of the person.

Qualifications, experience and skills required

Education:

A degree in a specific subject area is not required, but degrees in the following areas will be positively valued:

  • Law
  • Political Science
  • International Cooperation
  • Economics and Administration

Training in the following areas will be positively considered: Italian Codice degli Appalti, tender preparation, Italian Public Procurement portals, European project design, project management, financial reporting.

Experience:

Preferably have at least one year of experience in one or more of the following tasks:

  • Tender/procurement office management
  • Reporting and/or management of LIFE, Horizon, Erasmus+, Interreg, etc. projects
  • Experience of working, research and/or volunteering in the environmental and/or social field

Required skills: 

  • Fluent Italian and excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office package, and in particular of Excel and Cloud technologies
  • Excellent organisational skills, time and deadline management, ability to work under pressure, dynamic, sunny personality, strong proactivity
  • Strong personal and professional interest in the environmental issues the company deals with

We will also positively assess the following non-mandatory skills:

  • Knowledge of major Italian public procurement purchasing portals (e.g. MEPA)
  • Knowledge of the Italian Codice degli Appalti
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting
  • Knowledge of European funding programmes
  • Knowledge of Italian and European institutions

Contract information

Start: February 2023

Workplace: Padova – Piazza A. De Gasperi n. 41. Possibility of smart working.

Lenght: 1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal for an indefinite period. For candidates under 30 years of age, 3-year apprenticeship contract.

Level: to be defined during the interview and subsequent meetings and based on work experience and CV.

Type of contract: full time (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale Settore Commercio).
