A research in collaboration with the Study and Innovation Centre of the Fondazione CRC

The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo (CRC) has entrusted Etifor with the realisation of a research project on the natural resources and the resilience of the territory of the province of Cuneo (Italy) to the climate crisis. The publication of the research will provide policy-makers with a precise idea of the territorial policies to be adopted in order to fight and adapt to this phenomenon. In addition, the research will provide the Fondazione itself with a solid knowledge base for the creation of ad hoc calls or projects.

The problem

While there is a growing awareness on environmental issues, leading citizens to demand effective policy responses, these measures often take a long time to be implemented or are insufficient. Especially at the local level, today’s policy-makers must be able to make choices that are scientifically grounded and immediately concrete, generating positive impacts for the environment and people’s health.

The project

In order to provide a solid base for the adoption of measures and policies that can counteract and mitigate the effects of the climate crisis, the research carried out by Etifor aims at:

  • organise and present current knowledge on natural resources in the province of Cuneo and on local climate risks;
  • research best practices and existing solutions to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis;
  • propose and evaluate the best solutions through a participatory process involving the main territorial stakeholders (local administrators, the business world, trade associations, etc.),

Finally, the objective of the research is to obtain a set of innovative measures, the feasibility of which has already been verified, that can be promoted in the territory.

Our contribution

Etifor is conducting the study at every stage, from the collection and creation of spatial data through the use of GIS software, to the definition of the main risk factors. On the basis of this information and the innovative solutions identified, the main stakeholders will be involved through the use of dedicated participatory techniques.
