On May, we joined the GSTC annual conference in Antalya: with 300 participants from 50 different countries, this event represented an opportunity to discuss sustainable approaches in tourism and how to promote and develop them in various territorial contexts.

On this occasion, Federica Bosco from Etifor participated in the “Sustainable Rural Tourism” panel, where she presented case studies of rural destinations that were able to bring value to their territories in a sustainable manner, both for the environment and the local communities.

We believe that tourism should serve the territory and local communities, rather than the other way around, and that it can do so by minimizing its impacts. For this reason, during the panel, Federica presented some case studies of rural destinations (Valsugana, Tarvisiano, Alta Badia, Alpe Cimbra, Siena). Destinations that we have supported and that have embraced this standard creating positive impacts on their territories.
