It is funded by the LIFE Program of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Regione Lombardia has<strong> recognized the need to develop a regional strategy<\/strong> for the period 2015-2020, supported by an integrated, unitary, coordinated and participatory management. To this end, in the period 2012-2015 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etifor.com\/en\/portfolio\/natura-vale-biodiversity-is-wealth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GESTIRE project<\/a> (LIFE11 NAT\/IT\/000044) was realized to prepare an updated and more complete version of the regional Priority Action Framework (PAF). Based on the results of this planning document, the current integrated project is implemented in the Natura 2000 regional network.<\/p>\n<p>In this way the project aims to<strong> face the threats to biodiversity<\/strong> that appear from several fronts in natural ecosystems.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:1rem;margin-bottom:2rem;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;--awb-sep-color:#000000;border-color:#000000;border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-text-color:#000000;--awb-font-size:28px;\"><div class=\"title-sep-container title-sep-container-left fusion-no-large-visibility fusion-no-medium-visibility fusion-no-small-visibility\"><div class=\"title-sep sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e0dede;\"><\/div><\/div><span class=\"awb-title-spacer fusion-no-large-visibility fusion-no-medium-visibility fusion-no-small-visibility\"><\/span><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-style:normal;font-weight:700;margin:0;font-size:1em;--fontSize:28;line-height:1.5;\"><span class=\"high\">The project<\/span><\/h2><span class=\"awb-title-spacer\"><\/span><div class=\"title-sep-container title-sep-container-right\"><div class=\"title-sep sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e0dede;\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"--awb-font-size:16px;--awb-text-color:#000000;--awb-text-font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;--awb-text-font-style:normal;--awb-text-font-weight:400;\"><p>GESTIRE 2020 is structured in four plans of action:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and improve the conservation status of habitats and species<\/li>\n<li>Increase awareness and information on the value and the potential of Natura 2000 areas<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the effectiveness of the project in pursuing the objectives of the PAF<\/li>\n<li>Improve the governance and management models of the Natura 2000 network to achieve multiple policy objectives, through the increase of the capacity building of the multiple subjects involved in the management of RN2000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:1rem;margin-bottom:2rem;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;--awb-sep-color:#000000;border-color:#000000;border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-text-color:#000000;--awb-font-size:28px;\"><div class=\"title-sep-container title-sep-container-left fusion-no-large-visibility fusion-no-medium-visibility fusion-no-small-visibility\"><div class=\"title-sep sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e0dede;\"><\/div><\/div><span class=\"awb-title-spacer fusion-no-large-visibility fusion-no-medium-visibility fusion-no-small-visibility\"><\/span><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-style:normal;font-weight:700;margin:0;font-size:1em;--fontSize:28;line-height:1.5;\">Our <span class=\"high\">contribution<\/span><\/h2><span class=\"awb-title-spacer\"><\/span><div class=\"title-sep-container title-sep-container-right\"><div class=\"title-sep sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e0dede;\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" style=\"--awb-font-size:16px;--awb-text-color:#000000;--awb-text-font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;--awb-text-font-style:normal;--awb-text-font-weight:400;\"><p>The consultancy of Etifor lies within this last point, and deals with Action A2 which concerns the <strong>development of innovative governance models.<\/strong> Within the action a\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturachevale.it\/governance\/toolkit-per-il-miglioramento-della-governance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toolkit for the improvement of governance<\/a> (freely accessible on-line). Through a participatory path it leads the territories to identify their strengths and weaknesses and to build a participated and effective governance towards the specific management objectives of the areas.<\/p>\n<p>Now Etifor, in collaboration with Regione Lombardia and ERSAF (Action C21), is applying the Toolkit in 5 different contexts at regional level.
