Since 2022, over <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">5,000 people<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> have participated in our activities, contributing to developing a more <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">resilient and sustainable<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> forest management model.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Why LIFE ClimatePositive?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Italy is characterized by <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">high land fragmentation<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, leading to the abandonment of many forests and making them more vulnerable to the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">impacts of climate change<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For this reason, the main objectives of the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">LIFE ClimatePositive<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> project are to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Promote forest associationism<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> as an effective tool to consolidate fragmented forest areas, combat abandonment, and encourage collective and sustainable management.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Increase the planned and responsibly managed forest area<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to reduce forest vulnerability and enhance climate change mitigation effects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Develop innovative business models<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that enable small forest owners to access financing related to carbon compensation and ecosystem services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Support the development of a National Carbon Code<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> for the voluntary carbon market, defining a methodology for carbon and ecosystem service calculation aligned with the European regulatory framework.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">2024 Results: Key Achievements<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the past year, the project has achieved significant results:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Over 2,800 people<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> engaged in <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">40 events<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, including field demonstration days, study visits, training sessions, and online and in-person dissemination events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">SMART Associations Toolkit<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: A <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">practical 10-step guide<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to starting and managing SMART forest associations, available in digital format and as a printable PDF at <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lifeclimatepositive.it\/toolkit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">https:\/\/www.lifeclimatepositive.it\/toolkit\/<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sustainable forest management interventions<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> were implemented in <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">12 pilot areas<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Tuscany, Molise) to mitigate climate change and enhance ecosystem services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Technical and territorial support<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: A <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">help desk for land associations<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> has been launched in Lombardy, offering <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">technical, legal, and fiscal assistance<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, along with a series of <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">legal support video resources<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Online educational and outreach materials<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: Informative video clips, webinars, reports, and in-depth studies on forest associationism, available on the project website.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Outlook for 2025: Challenges and Opportunities<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">2025 will be crucial, with several initiatives <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">planned<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">strengthen responsible forest management and promote sustainability<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.
