In face of the challenges brought by <\/span>urbanisation<\/b> and <\/span>climate change<\/b>, more and more experts are pointing to a simple yet extremely effective solution: <\/span>nature<\/b>. For this reason, cities across the world have started implementing urban forests<\/strong> to address many environmental issues. However, urban forests have even a greater potential: not only do they produce important benefits for the environment, but also for the economy and for people’s health and wellbeing. Thanks to their <\/span>multidisciplinary nature<\/b>, urban forests are key allies in the achievement of many SDGs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, <\/span>Uforest<\/span><\/a> promotes knowledge and innovation in urban forestry<\/b>, with the aim to increase the capacity of higher education institutions, start-ups, and entrepreneurs to support EU cities in the achievement of sustainability goals. Bringing together leading universities and experts, as well as public administrations, businesses, and organisations with different backgrounds, Uforest wants to explore the multidisciplinary nature of urban forestry and foster entrepreneurship in this field.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the aim to disuss the potential of urban forests for greener, healthier, and more sustainable cities, on the <\/span>15th of February 2023<\/b> Uforest invites you to the <\/span>hybrid event<\/b> \u201c<\/span>Urban forests between challenges and opportunities<\/span><\/a>\u201d. Organised by Uforest\u2019 partners <\/span>Politecnico di Milano<\/b> and <\/span>ERSAF<\/b>, with the support of Etifor, the event will present the Uforest project and its international Alliance on urban forestry. At the same time, this event represents an opportunity to discuss urban forests as innovative and effective Nature-based Solution to many environmental, social, and economic challenges. Finally, with the participation of<\/span> international experts<\/b> from the Uforest partnership, the event will present challenges and opportunities in the urban forestry sector. Among them, <\/span>keynote speaker Nadina Galle<\/b> from Green City Watch will discuss the use of technology in the management and development of urban forests.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
